Yonsei Milk Macadamia Chocolate Milk

Dark, richly brown coloration suggests a strong, cocoa-forward experience, and that is exactly what is delivered! It's a shame that it comes in a box so you're not enticed by the inviting visuals-- I'm surprised at the amount of flavor that is packed into a miniature 190mL box. Though it contains 2% Macadamia paste, I don't detect any nuttiness, nor is it comparable to the various Macadamia-infused chocolate milks from Eastern Europe. The viscosity is quite thin, with a little grit in the final act of each sip (from the prominent cocoa presence)-- and while it might benefit from a reduction in sweetness, it's at least balanced by a salty factor of comparable strength. Sure, there are still vestiges of UHT pasteurization, but the fortitude of the primary flavors shine enough to mitigate the cooked milk flavor. In short, it certainly leaves you wanting more, which puts it firmly into 'above average' territory.

Ildong Foodis & Up Cafe Choco Latte

Extreme levels of cocoa flavor and sweetness— which doesn’t make for a well-balanced drink. It’s way too much, particularly the sweetness, especially without a cream or salt to help keep it in check. This has lots of flavor, and for fans of the uber-sweet— this could be your deal. As for me, I’m going to brush my teeth straight away.

Starbucks Signature Chocolate

Definitely not Starbucks hot chocolate served in cold form. This is thin and smooth with a pleasant cream quotient, and respectably chocolaty. There is a slight mineral-y tang that makes a brief post-swallow cameo. Enjoyable nonetheless, and no, there’s no coffee in it.
